Milwaukee, Great Fishing For All!

Coho and Chinook Report 7/20/2016! Join us in Milwaukee! To get my fish reports and how to videos first go to http://www.jimhirt.com By subscribing you will keep ahead of the other anglers. When I post you will get it first!

How
Mixed bag all week. Very consistent. Mostly a spoon bite. The big King Chinooks are active every trip. The action and location has not changed. Chinooks and Coho have dominated the catch and lots of Rainbows. Chinooks went for Magnum Reaper Monkey Puke spoons in Yellow puke /silver. Many Chinooks over twenty pounds this week most averaged 12-18 pounds. White or green Howie’s flies also working well run behind a white flasher. The big Chinooks are active 45-90 down on downriggers. Reapers and Vulcans made by http://www.badgertackle.com have been working for us. They have a Buy Four get one free special this season. The small silver Vulcan in green or blue has also been good on the downriggers. Run them 75 feet behind the ball 55 feet down to the bottom. Coho have been on standard size Howie flies. Running all wire divers now with a 1.5 set at 125 feet of line out.

Lake Trout action picking up they were hitting the Chinook tackle.

Brown Trout action was one here and there on the Vulcan Silver Sky.

Rainbow Trout were hitting Vulcan Dolphin Green and Silver spoons in the top 15 feet. Three and four color leadcore best.

Speed
For all fish speed has been very critical with the warmer 67 degree water. The temp break to 57 is down 30 feet in 75 feet of water. I use the Depth Raider to measure speed and temp at the ball. The boat speed of 2.0 to 2.2 has been best. The faster speed triggered the Chinook action.

Where!
I fished mostly out over 70 feet again. East wind has pushed the warmer water in. Fish 70 to 140 feet. Near shore action on McKinley pier has been picking up. Some Chinooks and Browns being caught on Vulcan spoons. We did not get out over 110 feet of water yesterday. Head 55 degrees north in Whitefish Bay and set lines in 70 feet. Troll north east have a great fishing season. Let’s go fishing! Note We are offering an extra hour for $35 when added to a five hour fishing charter. How
Total salmon all week. Chinooks and Coho have dominated the catch all week. Chinooks went for Magnum Reaper spoons in blue/silver or green/silver. White or green Howie’s flies also working well run behind a white flasher. The big Chinooks are active 40 to 50 down. Reapers and Vulcans made by http://www.badgertackle.com have been working for us. The small silver Vulcan in green or blue has also been good on the downriggers. Run them 50 feet behind the ball 45 feet down to the bottom. Six inch flashers or dodgers with green or blue Howie’s peanut flies have been my go to bait for Coho. Tie your flies 16 inches on 6 inch dodgers, 13 inches for 6 inch flashers. All orange dodgers and flashers. I hope this helps. Slide Diver are producing with flies set at 2 small ring 40 feet of line out.

Lake Trout action was slow today but we didn’t fish their favorite spots.

Brown Trout action was just ok on 2 color lead core with small spoons.

Rainbow Trout were hitting Vulcan OL Sherbet spoons in the top 15 feet

Speed
For all fish speed has been very critical with the 50 degree water. I use the Depth Raider to measure speed at the ball. The boat speed of 2.0 to 2.2 has been best. The faster speed triggered the Chinook action.

Where!
I fished in and out again. West wind has pushed the warmer water out in 125 to 200 feet but anglers near shore are catching fish. We did not get out over 160 feet of water yesterday. Head north in Whitefish Bay and set lines in 50 feet. Troll north east have a great fishing season. Let’s go fishing! Note All alone we put together groups at $125 per person. By Milwaukee Wisconsin fishing charter Captain Jim Hirt
Limits of fish the rule in Milwaukee!
Cold water the key to success. Check out this nice mixed bag of fish caught by Jason and company. To get my fish reports and how to videos first go to http://www.jimhirt.com By subscribing you will keep ahead of the other anglers. When I post fish4x3tyou will get it fast by e-mail!
How Chinook
The Reaper Fish N Chip Magnum spoons are best when on 8 color Leadcores. Divers set at #1.5 with 160 feet of line out another option. The only place you will find Reaper and Vulcan spoons is on my web site at http://www.badgertackle.com
How Lake Trout
Action for Lakers has been steady. Same presentation as for Chinooks have been best. Over the last week I have taken Lakers 50 to 70 down over 50 to 70 feet of water. Option #2 Copper and Lead cores are also good. Best action has been in 65 feet of water today
How Coho
Coho have found the 2 and 3 color lead cores with magnum spoons.
Rainbow Trout
Vulcan regular Green Dolphin spoons on 2,3 and 4 color lead core best. They have turned on over the last 2 days. You must fish deep to catch this jumping fish in about 140 feet of water.
Where!
Fish are north or south of Milwaukee. Fish the complete water column for the best action. Set up in 50 feet and fish out to 80 and back in. Fish the gaps at first light is another option for Brown Trout and a few Chinooks. Our best speed was 1.9 to 2.0 mph measured at the ball with the Depth Raider. The current has been strong watch your speed!
Have a great fishing season. Jim charters out of Milwaukee, WI. with Blue Max Charters. He can be reached at 414-828-1094 or visit his web site at http://www.bluemaxcharters.com Copyright© 2015, James J. Hirt, All Rights Reserved.

Chinooks and Coho are in! Fishing Milwaukee!
Out all weekend a 50/50 split on Coho and Chinooks. Badger Tackle Reaper or Vulcan spoons getting it done in the regular or magnum size. To get my fish reports and how to videos first go to http://www.jimhirt.com By subscribing you will keep ahead of the other anglers. When I post you will get it fast by e-mail!
How Chinook
My first choice is first light with glow spoons. The spoons are best when run 100 feet behind the downrigger ball and 25 feet down. Three, four, five color Lead Core are also taking Chinooks. Chinooks being taken in 65 to 100 feet of water anywhere out of Milwaukee. The only place you will find Reaper and Vulcan spoons is on my web site at http://www.badgertackle.com
How Lake Trout
Action for Lakers has been steady for fish in the cooler. Try long lead spoons and SWR rigs 45 to 60 feet down. Lead cores are also a good choice. Best action has been in 75 feet.
How Coho
Get out the flashers with Howie peanut flies. Some scattered reports of Coho being caught on spoons as well. The surface is 53 degrees and the Silvers are 15 feet down to the surface in 40 to 100 feet of water. Our average has been 10 to 12 per trip.
Rainbow Trout
If you have time and good lake conditions try 250 feet of water for good action on Rainbows. Vulcan OL Sherbet Orange spoons on 2,3,4, color lead core best.
Where!
Fish are north or south of Milwaukee. Fish the entire water column in 20 to 100 feet of water for the best action. Our best speed was 2.0 to 2.2 mph measured at the ball with the Depth Raider.
Have a great fishing season. Jim charters out of Milwaukee, WI. with Blue Max Charters. He can be reached at 414-828-1094 or visit his web site at http://www.bluemaxcharters.com Copyright© 2015, James J. Hirt, All Rights Reserved.

Coho provide most of the action in Milwaukee!
Time to get a cooler of fine tasting Coho Salmon. To get my fish reports and how to videos first go to http://www.jimhirt.com By subscribing you will keep ahead of the other anglers. When I post you will get it fast!

How
Coho are coming on small size spoons and crank baits. Reapers and Vulcans made by http://www.badgertackle.com have been working for us. The small silver Vulcan has been hot on the lead cores. Six inch flashers or dodgers with green or blue Howie peanut flies must be part of your presentation for Coho. A hot presentation for us was a size O orange dodger with a 15.5 inch lead to a medium size blue fly. Coho are in the top 25 feet. Steady action on Slide Divers set to #3 no ring and 25 feet of line out. Run all boards with 3/8 ounce keel sinkers. Our fish have been very high in the water column. Speed is very critical with the 48 degree water. I use the Depth Raider to measure speed at the ball. For spoons use the regular size Silver Vulcan. No Chinook yet as we are targeting Coho. The boat speed of 1.9 to 2.2 has been best. Tie your flies 14.5 to 16 inches on 6 inch dodgers, 18 inches for 6 inch flashers. All orange dodgers and flashers. I hope this helps.

Where!
Fish are in close to the break wall and shore line. It can be a crazy in close with all the traffic and it may be better to fish the shore line south of Milwaukee. Have a great fishing season. Let’s go fishing! Note All alone we put together groups at $125 per person. Jim charters out of Milwaukee, WI. with Blue Max Charters. Milwaukee Fishing Lake Michigan Salmon Report 9/21/2013

Weather rough fishing great!
The wind and storms has limited our chances to get out but when we got out action has been good. Let me explain where and why. To get my fish reports and how to videos first go to http://www.jimhirt.com By subscribing you will keep ahead of the other anglers. When I post you will get it fast!

How Chinooks
Harbor fishing has been best at first light or low light with glow magnum Reaper spoons, J-plugs and crank baits. Jiggers and shore anglers are having some success with spawn and jigs. I have also had some fish on white flashers with aqua Howie flies.
On the 20th we had a great trip in 70 to 85 feet of water. All Chins 2,3 and four year olds 30 to 60 down. Magnum Reaper Fish n Chip did well on a 5 or 6 color lead core. Next day was also good but the fish were smaller with no four year olds. I use the Depth Raider to measure speed at the ball. The boat speed of 1.9 to 2.0 has been best.

How Lakers
For Lake Trout magnum Reaper glow spoons presented within inches of the bottom will bring in some hogs with the most running 8-10 pounds. A size 0 dodger and Spin N Glow may be needed on some days. No Lakers the last two days.

Where!

Watch your temperature and fish in 60 or less degrees of water. Fish are marking from 65 feet and all the way out north or south of Milwaukee to 220 feet. Have a great fishing season. Let’s go fishing!
Note I have openings on the schedule. I am the only charter offering an extra hour for $35 when added to any five hour charter. Jim charters out of Milwaukee, WI. with Blue Max Charters. Lakers dominate the catch with some Chinooks and Rainbows. Not much has changed for the last month. To get my fish reports and how to videos first go to http://www.jimhirt.com By subscribing you will keep ahead of the other anglers. When I post you will get it fast! Ron and Valerie Dent landed this double of a Rainbow and Chinook. Good battle great charter!! Both fish were taken on Reaper Magnum Fish n Chip spoons.

How Chinooks
Chinook are taking flies and also magnum spoons. Wire divers set to 1.5 with 100 feet of line out have been the most consistent. Chinook are coming in 105 feet of water 55 down. I use the Depth Raider to measure speed at the ball. The boat speed of 1.9 to 2.2 has been best.

How Lakers
For Lake Trout magnum Reaper glow spoons presented within inches of the bottom will bring in some hogs with the most running 8-10 pounds. A size 0 dodger and Spin N Glow may be needed on some days.

Good year for Rainbows
Lead core in 3,4,5,6, and eight colors are best for working the Rainbows. I like magnum spoons. Reaper Peacock has been a good choice.

Where!

Fish are marking from 80 feet and all the way out north or south of Milwaukee to 140 feet. Have a great fishing season. Let’s go fishing!
