Chinooks and Lake Trout Great! Fishing Milwaukee!
Get on the water all species active. Arnold Stebem enjoyed this nice 15 pound king when he was fishing with his family. Badger Tackle Reaper or Vulcan spoons getting it done in the regular or magnum size. To get my fish reports and how to videos first go to http://www.jimhirt.com By subscribing you will keep ahead of the other anglers. When I post you will get it fast by e-mail!
How Chinook
Glow spoons first or last light are the best bet. The spoons are best when run 100 feet behind the downrigger ball and 45 feet down. Divers set at #2 with 120 feet of line out another option.
How Lake Trout
Arnold Stebem 3x5How Coho
Coho have slowed down. Only a couple per trip mostly caught on flies
Rainbow Trout
Vulcan OL Sherbet Orange spoons on 2,3,4, color lead core best.
Where!
Fish are north or south of Milwaukee. Fish 60 feet and up. For the best action set up in 75 feet and fish out to 120 and back in. Our best speed was 2.0 to 2.2 mph measured at the ball with the Depth Raider.

Big improvement in Fishing Milwaukee!
Out all weekend a 70/40 split on Coho and Chinooks. Badger Tackle Reaper or Vulcan spoons getting it done in the regular size. Our friend and customer Larry Yelick wrestled this 15 pound 6 ounce King. To get my fish reports and how to videos first go to http://www.jimhirt.com By subscribing you will keep ahead of the other anglers. When I post you will get it fast by e-mail!
How Chinook
My first choice is first light with glow spoons. The spoons are best when run 100 feet behind the downrigger ball and 45 feet down. Chinooks being taken in 65 feet of water in White Fish Bay and south of Milwaukee. The only place you will find Reaper and Vulcan spoons is on my web site at http://www.badgertackle.com
How Lake Trout
Action for Lakers has been steady for fish in the cooler. Try long lead spoons and SWR rigs 45 to 60 feet down. Lead cores are also a good choice. Best action has been in 65 feet.
How Coho
Get out the flashers with Howie peanut flies. Some scattered reports of Coho being caught on spoons as well. The surface is 50 degrees and the Silvers are 40 feet down to the surface in 40 to 100 feet of water. Our average has been 10 to 16 per trip.
Rainbow Trout
If you have time and good lake conditions try 250 feet of water for good action on Rainbows. Vulcan OL Sherbet Orange spoons on 2,3,4, color lead core best.
Where!
Fish are mixed up and scattered. Fish the entire water column in 20 to 100 feet of water for the best action. Our best speed was 2.0 to 2.2 mph measured at the ball with the Depth Raider.

Chinook fishing improving in Milwaukee!

Chinook fishing improving in Milwaukee!
Some nice Kings along with great Coho Salmon fishing. To get my fish reports and how to videos first go to http://www.jimhirt.com By subscribing you will keep ahead of the other anglers. When I post you will get it fast by e-mail!
How
Early or late bite has been very productive fishing. Calm seas the last several days has made it a little more difficult to get the fish to bite all day. Most of the Coho are in the top 35 feet on 6-inch flashers or OO dodgers with Howie peanut, flies tied 13 inches long. The Coho are not all that picky on color most green or blue Howie flies will work. The majority of the fish are Coho on most trips. Reaper Magnum and Vulcan Magnum spoons in blue/green or silver/ green on the leadcores are taking Chinooks and Lake Trout 8 to 15 pounds. Leadcore in 4,5,6, and eight colors are the best for kings. The only place you will find Reaper and Vulcan spoons is on their web site at http://www.badgertackle.com The warmer days has brought the temperatures near shore up to 61 degrees on the surface and that action in has slowed. Start your trip in 50 feet of water and fish out to deeper water. Look for 52-degree surface water and fish the top 30 feet for the best action. Our best presentations are Yellow Bird planer boards with 25 foot leads behind the boards. Slide Divers are also producing set to #1 with 35 feet of line out. Our best speed was 1.7 to 2.0 mph.
Where!
Fish have moved out as the water temperature has went up to 61 on the surface near shore. Action seems to be better as you move south of the green can or about 2.5 miles south of Milwaukee. Have a great fishing season. Let’s go fishing! Note All alone we put together groups at $125 per person. Jim charters out of Milwaukee, WI. with Blue Max Charters. Milwaukee Fishing Lake Michigan Salmon Report 10/7/2013

By Milwaukee Wisconsin fishing charter Capt. Jim Hirt
Big Numbers on Chinooks, Don’t put the boat away !! West wind has cranked up the fishing for all species. It is some of the best fishing we had all year. One week left in my season if you have time to get out. Let me explain where and why. To get my fish reports and how to videos first go to http://www.jimhirt.com By subscribing you will keep ahead of the other anglers. When I post you will get it fast!

How Chinooks
Harbor fishing has been best at first light or low light with glow magnum Reaper spoons, J-plugs and crank baits. Jiggers and shore anglers are having some success with spawn and jigs. I have also had some fish on white flashers with aqua Howie flies.
On the 6th we had a great trip in 70 to 115 feet of water. All Chins 2 and 3 year olds 20 to 60 down. Magnum Reaper Fish n Chip did well on 2,4,5 or 6 color lead core. I use the Depth Raider to measure speed at the ball. The boat speed of 1.9 to 2.0 has been best.

Where!

Watch your temperature and fish in 55 or less degrees of water. Fish are marking from 65 feet and all the way out north or south of Milwaukee to 120 feet. Have a great fishing season. Let’s go fishing!
