Great Weather Outstanding Fishing Milwaukee!
Weather has finally come around. Don’t miss this opportunity to fill the box with an all species limit. Kings to 18 pounds yesterday! Fish from 80 to 125 feet of water. Some action in closer to shore but the hot action is out. Note For the month of May mention this report and receive one free hour of fishing with a five hour charter booked and taken in May!!!! All alone we put together groups at $125 per person. The hot bait was the regular size Reaper Glow spoons made by http://www.badgertackle.com We also had action on Spin Doctors or orange flashers and flies.

How!
Our best presentations are 8 color Cortland lead core and downriggers 55 down to five feet off the bottom. The fish have been on regular and magnum spoons in a blue and silver pattern. The Vulcan Magnum and regular Reaper spoons by Badger Tackle have caught most of our fish. Six inch orange dodgers and Johnnie Peanut Flies are also doing a good job on Coho. Our best boat speed is 1.7 to 2.0 mph. Slide Divers are producing very well set to #2 with 70 to 90 feet of line out with the ring.

Where!
Head northeast, southeast or due east out the north gap Milwaukee and fish in 80 to 125 feet of water. Out in front of the water filtration plant is a good option for small boat anglers the fish seem to be closer to shore in that location. Water color may be an issue if it is cloudy move out of the cloudy water for the best action. Have a great fishing season. Let’s go fishing!! East Gales May…. Change The Action !
Cold water and unsettled weather has turned on the fish. As of two days ago action was fantastic but this may all change on east gales. Eight to Twelve foot waves yesterday shut down any opportunity to get out and time will tell how the lake will respond after the blow. My guess is the fish won’t be affected significantly and will stay in the 55 to 100 feet of water. The big 20 pound Chinooks have been slow and may be done for this season. To get my fish reports and how to videos first go to http://www.jimhirt.com By subscribing you will keep ahead of the other anglers. When I post you will get it fast!

How!

Try trolling the harbor with magnum glow spoons at first light. Magnum Reapers in silver or glow on 75 foot leads are my go to bait for shallow water trolling. Shore anglers, I recommend regular size Badger Tackle Vulcan spoons in the glow colors for the cloudy water of the harbor when working the browns. My top producer trolling the last trip out for all species was the Reaper and Vulcan magnum spoon on six and eight color leadcore. Down riggers 30 to 50 down with spoons also worked. Looking for Reapers and Vulcans made by http://www.badgertackle.com you may only order them online. Try them their shipping is cheap and they arrive fast. My lead cores and coppers all run behind a Church Walleye Board. When fishing deep braid divers no ring set to #3 with 65 feet line out are working. I use the Depth Raider to measure speed at the ball. The boat speed of 2.0 to 2.2 has been best.

Where!

The harbor is packed with 2-3 pound Brown Trout and you may find this an option for shore fishing. Boat anglers fish northeast out of Milwaukee north of the Filtration Plant 70 to 90 feet of water. Head out the Main gap Milwaukee 65 degrees for the best deep action. Have a great fishing season. Let’s go fishing! Jim charters out of Milwaukee, WI. with Blue Max Charters. West Is Best And The Fish Are In !
Warm water is out and cold water is in and the fish have followed. Feeding fish have moved to 70 feet and down 50 to the bottom. The big 20 pound Chinooks have been slow but this drop in temperature should cool the harbor and promote action in the inner harbor. Thomas Jones battled this trophy Chinook of 23 pounds 2 ounces! Glow spoons inside the break wall have been good at first light. Magnum Reapers in silver or glow on 75 foot leads my go to bait for shallow water. To get my fish reports and how to videos first go to http://www.jimhirt.com By subscribing you will keep ahead of the other anglers. When I post you will get it fast!

Big Chinooks in close to shore are hitting Reaper Magnum Fish Fry Glow spoons 100 feet behind the ball off downriggers 20 feet down and #3 glow J-Plugs. Looking for Reapers and Vulcans made by http://www.badgertackle.com you may only order them online. Try them their shipping is cheap and they arrive fast. My lead cores and coppers all run behind a Church Walleye Board. When fishing in close braid divers no ring set to #4 with 40 feet line out are working. I use the Depth Raider to measure speed at the ball. The boat speed of 2.0 to 2.2 has been best.

In and out for fish Milwaukee.
Warm water on northeast wind has again driven the feeding fish out to 125 feet and down 80 to 100 down. Eight to twelve pound Chinooks are plentiful with an occasional Lake Trout and Rainbow. Looking for Reapers and Vulcans made by http://www.badgertackle.com you may only order them online. Try them their shipping is cheap and they arrive fast. My lead cores and coppers all run behind a Church Walleye Board. When fishing in close wire divers have replaced the braid divers set to #2 with 100-120 feet if line out. A little faster speed about 2.2 is required for Rainbows. I use the Depth Raider to measure speed at the ball. The boat speed of 2.0 to 2.2 has been best.

Go Deep! Deep! Deeper! In Milwaukee.
Warm water has driven the fish way out or way down. We’re seeing great Rainbow Trout action with fish to 12 pounds and 18 pound kings and a few Lake Trout. Leadcores and divers best with action on downriggers as well. Magnum spoons are a good for Rainbows. Surface water has warmed to 76 degrees and most of the action on Rainbows is 40 to 66 feet down. To get my fish reports and how to videos first go to http://www.jimhirt.com By subscribing you will keep ahead of the other anglers. When I post you will get it fast!

How
My top producers have been Reaper and Vulcan magnum spoons on 10 color leadcores and 225 copper rods. Throw in a flasher fly on the downrigger and keep moving till you find action. Big Chinooks are hitting Reaper Magnum Fish Fry Glow spoons and flashers from 100 to 155 down off downriggers fifteen feet behind the ball. Looking for Reapers and Vulcans made by http://www.badgertackle.com you may only order them online. Try them their shipping is cheap and they arrive fast. Ten color lead behind a Church Walleye Board is one of our best presentations. Wire divers have replaced the braid divers set to #2 with 100-120 feet if line out. Silver spoons have taken Rainbows to twelve pounds the last several days. A little faster speed about 2.2 is required for Rainbows. I use the Depth Raider to measure speed at the ball. The boat speed of 2.0 to 2.2 has been best. Don’t forget the Lake Trout near the bottom magnum Reaper glow spoons SLOW, SLOW, SLOW 1.5 or less will net Poor Mans Lobster.

Milwaukee Salmon Fishing Heats Up!
Coho, Chinooks and Rainbow make up the majority of the catch with an occasional Lake Trout. Surface water has warmed to 58 degrees and most of the action is 25 to 50 down in the 48 degree water. Spoons are now more important than ever to improving your catch. They should be your go to bait as the water approaches the most active range of your favorite species. To get my fish reports and how to videos first go to http://www.jimhirt.com By subscribing you will keep ahead of the other anglers. When I post you will get it fast!

How
With the warmer water the most aggressive Coho and Chinooks are coming on magnum spoons. Reapers and Vulcans made by http://www.badgertackle.com have been working for us. The Magnum Reaper Fish n Chip is the hot bait for the bright blue sky condition we have had the last two days. I have been running this spoon on all twelve of my lines and getting action all day long. 150 copper behind a Church Walleye Board is one of our best presentations. Six, eight and ten color leadcores are also working. Coho are from 25 feet to 50 down on downriggers as well. Chinooks are in pockets of colder 46-48 degree water. Wire divers have replaced the braid divers set to #2 with 60 to 120 feet if line out. The surface is almost sixty degrees and it is time to work the Rainbow Trout in the top twenty feet. Two and Three color leadcore with the Regular Vulcan Dolphin Green and Silver has taken Rainbows to twelve pounds the last several days. A little faster speed about 2.5 is required for Rainbows. I use the Depth Raider to measure speed at the ball. The big Chinook are hitting on Reaper Magnum Glow spoons. The boat speed of 1.9 to 2.2 has been best.

Where!
Fish east of Milwaukee 45 to 200 feet of water. Head out the Main gap Milwaukee 65 degrees. Fish northeast in White Fish Bay for the best action. Have a great fishing season. Let’s go fishing! Coho Everywhere In Milwaukee!
Had limits on Coho Salmon and the Chinook are there if you can keep the Coho off the line. To get my fish reports and how to videos first go to http://www.jimhirt.com By subscribing you will keep ahead of the other anglers. When I post you will get it fast!

How
Coho are coming on all size spoons. Reapers and Vulcans made by http://www.badgertackle.com have been working for us. The small Reaper Peacock and Fish n Chip has been hot on the lead cores. Six inch flashers or dodgers with green or blue Johnnie peanut flies must be part of your presentation for Coho. A hot presentation for us was a size O orange dodger with a 22 inch lead to a medium size blue fly. Coho are in the top 35 feet and Chinooks are 60 to 85 down. Steady action on Slide Divers set to #3 no ring and 55 feet of line out. Run 4 and 5 color Cortland lead core and downriggers 60 to 95 feet down. Speed has been very critical with the 47 degree water. I use the Depth Raider to measure speed at the ball. The big Chinook are hitting on Reaper Magnum Glow spoons. The boat speed of 1.9 to 2.2 has been best. Tie your flies 16 inches on 6 inch dodgers, 18 inches for 6 inch flashers. All orange dodgers and flashers. I hope this helps.

Where!
Fish are from the harbor break wall and all the way out east of Milwaukee to 150 feet. It can be a zoo in close with all the traffic and it may be better to head out the Main gap Milwaukee 85 degrees. Fish east out to 100 to 140 feet of water for the best action. Have a great fishing season. Let’s go fishing! Jim charters out of Milwaukee, WI. with Blue Max Charters.
